Star Trek actor Robert Walker who also starred in the 1969 classic film Easy Rider and whose mother was Oscar-winner Jennifer Jones dies at age 79
Star Trek actor Robert Walker Jr died on Thursday at the age of 79 in Malibu according to his family.
He stood out on the TV series for playing the teenager Charlie Evans, who also went by Charlie X. At first he seems like a harmless person, but then he shows his dark side.
The New York native also stood out for being the son of Hollywood stars Robert Walker and Jennifer Jones. His father is best know for Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers On A Train and his mother was in Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing.

His episode of Star Trek was only the second one in the first season, which aired in 1966.
Before that he starred in the 1963 film The Hook and 1964’s Ensign Pulver.
His other TV credits include Route 66, Bonanza, The Six Million Dollar Man, Quincy, M.E., Charlie’s Angels, Columbo, L.A. Law, and Murder, She Wrote.
In 1968 came Killers Three with Diane Varsi and Dick Clark
Another notable role was in the 1969 Western Young Billy Young with Robert Mitchum and Angie Dickinson.

Next was the 1969 classic Easy Rider.
The film centered on Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper) as they rode their Harley motorcycles from Southern California to the East Coast.
They meet racists and other hippies and also live through a drug experience in New Orleans.

A big Western: In 1967 the star was seen with John Wayne, Howard Keel, Keenan Wynn, Kirk Douglas in The War Wagon
Robert, who attended The Lawrenceville School near Princeton, had the smaller role of Jack.
In 1970s he was in Road to Salina with Rita Hayworth.
In the 1980s he popped up on several TV series like CHiPs and Dallas (he played Harding Devers) as well as The Fall Guy and Dragnet.
A classic: He landed opposite Diane Varsi and Dick Clark in the 1968 film Killers 3
He worked in the 1990s too on the soap Santa Barbara (1992) and FBI: The Untold Stories (1993).
In 2018 he played a doctor in Beyond The Darkness. It was his last screen role.
His famous parents wed in 1939, welcomed Robert Jr a year later and divorced in 1945. She then wed movie producer David O. Selznick, who put together Gone With The Wind.
Jones won an Academy Award for The Song of Bernadette in 1943.
He was married to Eleanor Wood from 1961 until 1976) and to Dawn Walker after that.
