Start Organizing Your Belongings 

First on the list of moving tips is taking inventory of and organizing your belongings. You should start looking through what you own months in advance. 

This form of spring cleaning will allow you to see what you want to take with you to your new home and what you don’t need anymore. Pack things up that you’ll be donating and make a list of items for sale. 

Throw out things that are too old and run down to keep or donate. 

Research Moving Companies

Take a few months to research some moving companies in your area. Make sure to get quotes from each company you reach out to, as this will help you determine which company is best for you.

Prepare Your Pets 

When moving a long distance, it’s important to start preparing your pets early. A lot of sudden change can cause your dog stress, but this is avoidable with some preparation. 

When you pack early and little by little, your dog won’t feel as overwhelmed because you won’t feel overwhelmed. If you’ll be traveling with your dog, remember to pack their essential items for easy access. 

Keep one of their favorite toys with you so they can play during the car ride. You should also have some of their food packed and lots of water.
