The First Lady was humiliated on live TV while her and her husband visited Fort Myers, Florida to survey the damage after Hurricane Irma in 2017. During the end of their visit, Trump took a moment to thank first responders for their help.
However, while voicing his appreciation he managed to snub his own wife who was standing right beside him.
He said: “I just want to thank everybody – the first responders – on behalf of myself, our vice president and Melania who really wanted to be here”
Despite standing right next to her husband throughout his statement the President managed to completely overlook her.
When Trump made the blunder, Melania turned to him with a look of confusion.
The President’s slip up has taken Twitter by storm and has led to various users mocking Trump and his wife.
One user mockingly responded: “Oops he forgot he brought along a lookalike body double!”
Another user commented: “Well, he probably doesn’t recognize her. She’s not around him much.”
Another said: “Maybe that’s the Melania clone.”

“Sounds like he was just stating she wanted to be there, so she came.”
Another responded: “I think he said ‘a lot of you really wanted to be with us…’”
It comes as Melania came under fire after she was accused of lying about finishing university on her personal website before her husband became President.
The former model was caught out after it was noted her personal website claimed she obtained a degree in design and architecture from a university in Slovenia.
Melania was born in Novo Mesto, and grew up in Sevnica, Slovenia.
While Trump was President-elect the government website said Melania “paused her studies to advance her modelling career in Milan and Paris”.
It did not say whether she resumed or completed the degree.
However, Blaz Matija Vogelnik, a professor who said he briefly taught her at Slovenia’s University of Ljubljana, told NBC News she did not complete his course.
After several other reports claimed the FLOTUS’s resumé was false, the website disappeared.
The former model’s website no longer exists, along with the bio claiming she has a degree, and it now directs people to the First Lady’s Facebook page.
